Lunch at Rendezvous Restaurant Hock Lock Kee

After visiting the museum with my siblings and their families, we headed to Rendezous Restaurant Hock Lock Kee to have some nasi padang dinner. It is so yummy.

Very quiet and nice ambience.

We have to head to the counter and ordered our food and they would bring the dishes over to our tables.

The food all looked so good and some are spicy and some not.
Starters before the dinner, we had cumcumber and onions salad

You can choose the different type of gravy you wanted to go with your rice.

Korma Chicken (not spicy)

Curry Fish

Beef Rendang

Curry Chicken

Potato Patties or Bergadel

Sambal cuttlefish - spicy and good

Fried Brinjal with chilli - I hated brinjal but I dont mind okra.

Chicken rendang

Spicy curry gravy to go with rice...delicious. You can choose the non spicy gravy if you dislike spicy food.
We ordered two portions for every dishes as there are so many of us.
There is a 10% discount if you uses UOB credit card.

Buffet at Allson Hotel

I had a sumptous buffet lunch at Allson Hotel with my friends. The buffet is known as Penang Buffet which I tried so many times. I am now so lazy to take photo of the buffet food at the main table. So just some quick snap shot with my handphone of the food on my table.

Had some chicken rice, chicken with yummy chilli, fried fish, noodles, prawns, vegetables.

Prawn crackers, kueh pie tee (cup shaped), tempura prawns.

Pig's tripes (pig's stomach) soup with pepper

Singapore Laksa (spicy)

Penang Laksa (sour and sweet taste)

DIY Rojak (local salad). We enjoyed the buffet.

Red Bean Soup

Local Kueh (Cakes)

More Kuehs - good thing they cut the kueh in smaller portions so we can try all the different kuehs without overeating.

Yummy cakes

Agar Agar

Ending the buffet with some ice cream

Wow I think my stomach is going to burst with all the good food...lol

Mango with Honey dew and Sago

While out shopping with my girlfriend, we decided to hide in this little cafe at Bugis Junction from the hot sun outside.

We had this cold mango with honeydew and sago dessert..it is so good.

Dinner at Siblings's Gathering-Takeaway food

Continuing from previous posting, we had such heavy tea break snacks that we decided to eat only noodles for dinner. These are what we bought.

This is the traditional way of wrapping noodles in palm leaves. The palm leaves gave extra flavour to the noodles. But modernization had overtake the traditional way of wrapping food. The noodles nowadays are wrapped in plastic sheets and put in cardboard boxes.

But palm leaves are slowly making its way back here. Over at this zi char (means stir fry) stall at Block 203 Toa Payoh North, they are wrapping the noodles the traditional way and the queue is so scary.

If you go before 6 pm during weekends, the queue is about 1 hour but at 6 pm, it could be 2 hours or more. So we send my second sister and her hubby on a mission to get these noodles before 6 pm...lol

Mee Hoon (Rice Vermicelli)

Kway Teow (fried flat noodles)

Noodles with lots of ingrdients (eg. squid, prawns, meat, pig's stomach)

Oh this is so unhealthy but we do eat it once a while. It is Lard and was fried till very very crispy. They are to be eaten with the above noodles, mee hoon and hor fun. I dont eat these lard now because of heath conscious but at times like this, I do fall to temptation...lol

Fried Rice

Chicken parts with shrimp paste

Fu yong tan (egg omelette)
