Always wanted to try the dessert at Hui Lau Shan in Nex Mall. The price is reasonable and the dessert is good and lots of varieties. No problem finding seats here.

ABC Soup (Carrots,potato and corn soup) cooked with thermal cooker pot

After getting rid of the metal smell and taste in the pot (see earlier post , I decided to cook ABC soup with the thermal cooker pot.

Very easy to use the thermal cooker pot.

Firstly, I blanched the pork ribs and then throw all the ingredients into the thermal pot and add some water into it. Boil the whole thing for about ten minutes and add salt to taste. Placed the pot into the outer pot and covered with both lids of the inner pot and outer pot for about three and half hour or four hours.

The soup taste nice and the potato and carrots are soft.

How to get rid of metal taste and smell from new thermal pot cooker

My new thermal pot cooker has some metal taste when I first tried cooking with it. It leaves a bad taste.

I decided to get rid of the problem by boiling a pot of water with some lemon slices in it. Off the flame and covered the pot and leave them overnight.

The next day, I pour away the water and lemon slices and washed the pots.

It worked for me, no more metal taste in my new dish that I cooked with it.
