Shrove Tuesday - Tea Break

While doing my Chinese New Year visiting rounds, I stumbled across this nice cozy cafe in Toa Payoh near Braddell MRT Station.

The cafe was Shrove Tuesday and there's an explanation of the meaning of Shrove Tuesday on the wall inside the cafe.

There's quite a lot of nice food stated in the menu but as we had heavy lunch, did not order, will try the food when I visit again.

Like how little details like the teaspoon that comes with designs of musical instruments.

The waffle was really delicious with durian ice cream on the top.

Would definitely come back again.

High Tea at Artisan Boulangerie Co Great World City

After our boat trip from Bayfront to Kim Seng,(see my post)we headed to Great World City Shopping Mall for some shopping and high tea at Artisan Boulangerie Co.

Took the comfy sofa seats, where we had a good rest and chat among we four sisters.

Ordered the ham and cheese baguette shared by four of us cause we were still quite full from the earlier lunch at MBS.

Tea Break at The Providore Mandarin Gallery

We had to rest after much shopping along Orchard Road, came across this lovely looking cafe, The Providore at Mandarin Gallery.

Had cappuccino to kill all the sleepiness and tiredness hahaha. Lovely to see heart shaped art on the coffee.

Spotted Pat and Stick's ice cream sandwich, we just need to order them and try it. It's actually ice cream sandwiched between some cookies.

Chendol Mooncake Agar Agar

This is my first attempt on making mooncake agar agar.

Got these mooncake moulds during my trip to Penang.

For the filling aka chendol agar agar, I used the cupcake moulds.

A success, the mooncake agar agar really looked like the real traditional baked mooncake.

For the recipe, I got it from this lovely blog of Auntyyochana Blog.

ION Orchard - Food Hall

Japanese cake - at first I thought the woman was adding some durian flavour to the cake but is cheese flavour. I gave my feedback and they said maybe they would try to include durian as one of their flavour...lol. So the next time, you see the durian flavour, it is my idea..hahaha.

Konnyaku Jelly

Originally I wanted to make some egg agar agar but decided to make them with konnyaku jelly.

Pour some of the jelly into empty egg shell and added some slices of peaches.

Set in the fridge and when they are harden, cracked the shell and you can see the egg jelly with the fruit inside. It is fun and interesting.

I make some with the different jelly moulds.

For the recipes you can view this video from Phoon Huat.

Making of moon cake-Video 1 and 2

The above video shows the traditional way of making moon cake.

The above video is slightly different from the first video. This is the Teochew style moon cake and dont need a moon cake mould. The fillings are put into the pastry and rolled into a ball and then baked.
