Grand Shanghai Restaurant Singapore - celebrating my sister's 70th birthday

A very joyous occasion, my eldest sister celebrated her 70th birthday at Grand Shanghai Restaurant Singapore. As most of the siblings are in the golden age, the very reason why she celebrated in this restaurant (suggestion by me, as I had dined here before haha), cause we oldies loved the live music in the restaurant, singing mostly oldies songs, our favourite haha.
The stage looked so retro and good place to take photography.

A must for longevity birthday - longevity buns

Noodles with mixed seafood

Crab meat soup with fish maw

Steamed fish

Prawns

Braised mushroom with bamboo shoots and vegetables

Peking Duck

Peking duck skin wrapped

Peking duck meat stir fried with salt and pepper

Assorted vegetables

Roast chicken

Longevity cake (self bought)

Live music singing by restaurant singer

We enjoyed ourselves that night accompanied by live music.

White Restaurant - Vivocity - Lunch

Had a wonderful lunch at White restaurant in Vivocity.

We had one value lunch set and the other ala carte.
For the  lunch set, the main - we ordered the XO Twin scallop fried rice
For the side dish, we ordered the meat and seafood roll
The value lunch set supposed to come with soup of the day but they run out of soup that day, so they replaced my soup of the day with a dessert. I suggested my replacement to be yam paste and the chef agreed to it. Oh I loved the yam paste so much.

For the ala carte dish, we ordred the original white mee hoon

Enjoyed our lunch, will visit again. :)

Very interesting lunch at Pearl Hill Garden Restaurant at Chin Swee Road Singapore (Not sponsored)

Family lunch treat from one of my sibling at Pearl Hill Garden Restaurant at Chin Swee Road. OMG Singapore is so small, yet this is the first time I been to this place. It was hidden up a slope next to Hotel Re. I dont even know this hotel exist kekeke.

The location is not very convenient if you do  not drive. A long and hilly walk from Outram MRT Station (about 17 mins). The best way was to take Bus 174 and alight at Chin Swee Road after Manhatten house or yet to be completed Landmark Condominium.

From the bus stop at Chin Swee Road is about 5   to 10 mins walk up a small slope to the restaurant.

The restaurant is helmed by Celebrity Chef Pung (used to see him on mediacrop channel).

Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food and presented in a very interesting manner. Makes the food look attractive and of course the food tasted good too.
Very retro feeling at the sight of these buildings.

First dish was Ice Plant Vegetable with  fish skin. First time I come across ice plant. It was very crunchy and served with truffle sauce. Like how they presented dish with dry ice blew by the Monkey God statue. So cute.

Next dish looked like Lychee grown on a tree. We actually plucked the "lychee" from the plant hahaha.
It was actually prawn ball that looked like Lychee.

Imperial Lychee Prawn Ball

Vegetable with dry shrimp and wax meat

Charcoaled Tofu with minced meat and broccoli. Inside the tofu is really looked black like charcoal.

Stew Pork (not pork belly), not much fats. Tasted good like Dongpo pork

Flaming Chicken, this chicken comes free when we ordered a fish dish.

Roasted chicken with keropok (prawn crackers)
Orange roughy fish (长寿鱼)

Stewed Rice Vermicelli with Seafood and Supreme Stock in Opal Leaf

Chilled Whole Coconut Pudding with Ice Cream

This is not a sponsored post. But I would like to return to the restaurant to dine again. Highly recommended this hidden gem.
