South Korea-Korean BBQ Dinner

We had a sumptous Korean BBQ Dinner at Muju Tirol Resort.

It came with lots of side dishes, a very common practise of Korean Cusine.

We need to BBQ the meat by ourselves but the ever so kind photographer was there taking care of the BBQ for most of us.

Korean Airline Food

I just came back from a fantastic holiday in South Korea. I hope to sort out the photos of the korean food that I had during my holiday there. We took the night flight from Singapore to South Korea and had these breakfasts in the plane.

The above is the bibimbap breakfast set in the plane. The bibimbap comes with rice, some dishes and soup. The rice was supposed to go into the bowl of assorted food and mix well.

This is a western breakfast that came with an omelette, hot dog, potatoes and a bun. I am glad I selected the western breakfast. It tasted good.

Agar Agar

Fish Agar Agar, got this inspiration from Baking Mom's Blog.

The "Cat" agar agar is made for my very good friend in Texas. Her nickname is Cat. Of course, I did not send the agar agar by DHL to her.....lol. Just email a photo of the "cat" agar agar to her to show my friendship with her.

The "Rat" agar agar is a tried and error for the coming Chinese New Year. The coming chinese new year will be the year of the rat. I think I did not do a good job.....lol.
All the above has no recipes, it is through one creativeness. Just follow the instructions on the back of the packet of the agar agar powder to make the agar agar and then pour into the agar agar mould and coloured them with food colouring according to your designs.

Fine Dining at Jade, Fullerton Hotel

Thanks to D for the warm welcome and warm hospitality at Jade, Fullerton Hotel. We enjoyed ourselves so much at this fine dining and the food was great. Thanks for the good recommendation and introduction of the food.

The appetizer tasted good and comes with nice and beautiful dishwares.

The daily soup of the day is Winter Melon Soup with Chicken. The soup tasted so good and yummy.

Abalone siew mai - yummy.

Xiao Long Bao - tasty and juicy once you bite into it.

Bean squid dumpling - at first I was quite scared that it wont taste good because of the appearance and because it was made with the squid ink.

But once I bit into it, it was so yummy. The black skin is made of black fungus (mu er) and it was so soft and tender and the prawn inside was so tasty. You should tried this.

Fresh prawn dumpling (Har Gow) - I always love har gow.

Guo Tie or pot stickers - I love this too and the guo tie comes with a batter at the back for decoration. The batter was so cripsy and the guo tie tasted so good. Yum Yum

Cod in Vinaigrette - another good and yummy dish. The cod was so fresh and tasty.

Pork Belly with honey - ooooo, the pork belly was so soft and tender.

Crispy noodles with huge prawn - yum yum the noodles was tasty and the prawn so fresh and soft and tender just like the lobster. (I am craving for lobster now...lol)

This is the last dish - dessert. The pancake was made with sweet potato and the juice was mango and pomelo. A nice tasty dessert to end this fine dining.

Now the three types of chillis to go with the above food. This chilli dish is up to the individual to eat with or without the above food...lol. (This chilli photo is for my overseas/non Singaporean friends).

1/2 tsp of salt
1 tablespoon sugar.
Pan fry the prawns first and set aside.
Fry 3 tablespoon of oil and stir fry the onions.
Add in the chilli paste and fry till fragrant before adding the ketchup.
Stir in the fried prawns.

Easter Agar Agar

I made some agar agar and played around with different colours and moulds. I loved the one with tulips and the bunnies.

Then I decided to make the base with transparent agar agar and added some peaches.

But as I am lazy, I noticed the base is too transparent to make the little pictures outstanding. I should have added some coconut milk to the transparent agar agar.
