Lunch at Lerk Thai Chinatown Point
Over the weekend, hubby and me had lunch at Lerk Thai Chinatown Point. Decided to get the set meal for two people, really very worth.
We get to choose the original tom yum soup or change it to clear soup but the spicy and sour taste still exist, tasted really good. We could also change the seafood to chicken but decided to stick to the seafood.
Free flow of fragrant white rice but one plate of rice is really enough for me, need to pay additional for the drink though. I had the plum drink.
Coffee for hubby
For salad/appetizer category, we choose the special prawn cake. It was served steaming hot - yummy.
For the vegetable category, hubby prefer the prawn omelette.
For the Ala Carte category, we ordered the massman curry chicken, the gravy was really thick and good, goes well with the rice - yummy.

Oven stir fry dishes
Been using my oven to bake, roast, grill but first time I realised I could also stir fry in my oven lol.
Was attempting to stir fry some okra with nonya sauce.
First to scrap off the hairy skin off the okra, washed and sliced them, place them into one of my tiffin container, added some hot water just enough to cover the okra.
Added some nonya sauce, ikan bilis and placed them into the oven at 200 degrees celsius for about 30 minutes but in between, need to stir and mixed them evenly.
I also added two slices of luncheon meat in another tiffin container and placed into the oven (means I can cooked more than one dish in the oven at the same time, need to turn the luncheon meat over in between cooking.
Depending on how soft or crunching you want the okra, I prefer the okra to be soft and the luncheon meat is really crispy like those panfried, the best part is I did not have to add any oil.

Balestier Market
Been a long time since I revisited Balestier Market. I post about this market in my Singapore Blog.
The two stone lions flanking the Balestier Market signboard were gone.
I wondered where the stone lions (a replica of the original Merdeka Lion) are now. I googled and try to find the lions and chanced upon this blog another set of the replica merdeka lions. At first I thought is the same set of lions but closer look, especially the tails and eyes, it looked kinda different so is not the same pair.Geez, did not know there's so many sets of replica of the merdeka lions.
The Balestier Market is attracting more customers cause there's a lot new stalls in the market selling very good food. The new stalls were all relocated together from Long House food Centre which were closed.
I went from stall to stall to take photos of them, so many food but too bad I have a very small stomach hahaha.
There were many ceilings fans and also huge fans like this in the market, so not to worry feeling hot and stuffy in this market.
Of course, I must try Ah Hui Prawn Noodle after watching last friday's documentary show on Channel 8.It was indeed very good and at S$5 with two and half big prawns, is really worth it. The broth is really very tasty.
Hubby ordered the chicken and mushroom hor fun, I found the bowl of noodle look odd and then I realised my hubby asked the stall holder not to add any vegetables hahaha. He hated vegetables.
For dessert, we ordered the sweet potato soup, really very tasty and good , had the taste of ginger in it and the soup was really steaming hot.
