Chinese New Year Lunch


Chinese New Year Lunch at brother's house ....yummy....there's still lotus soup, fried mee hoon and briased mushroom not in the photo and of course my agar agar after the lunch.

Assorted agar agar and chendol agar agar agar


These assorted agar agar are for chinese new year. The green ones are chendol agar agar which I had posted before. The heart shaped agar agar are made with mandarin oranges. The rest of the agar agar with coconut made by my son (looked a bit untidy), I got the inspiration from baking mom's blog.

Singapore Muah Chee

This is fantastic about the internet. I found the recipe for muah chee from cookbake legacy.

Elephant Brand Glutinous Rice Flour

Fried Shallot Oil (can be purchased from NTUC supermarket)

Shift the flour

Add water and mix well.

Steamed Muah Chee on tray coated with shallot oil and this is the result of the steamed muah chee

Cut muah chee into bite sizes and roll over the sugar cum nuts.

Yummy. Best when served hot.

Lunch at Balestier Hill Shopping Centre

Hubby craved for beef hor fun so we ended up at our favourite zi char stall at Block 1 Balestier Hill Shopping Centre (opposite Thomson Medical Center).

Followed by a cup of tea with milk

We also ordered wonton noodle from a nearby stall but it was not that fantastic although it comes with a nice plate.

A bowl of wonton soup is always served with the dried type of wonton noodle. If you ordered the soup wonton noodle, the wonton will be served together with the noodle in the bowl of soup.
