Lunch at Food Republic Food Court City Square Mall Singapore

Love the beautiful interior designs at the Food Republic Food Court in City Square.

The designs looked like those shophouses in the vicinity.

One of my favourite food, thai food. :)

Hubby had sweet and sour fish fillet with rice, while I got the set (if I am not mistaken think is less than $10). My set consists of thai pineapple rice, with tomyum soup and a dessert. The fish cake was ordered separately.

Happy Valentine's Day

Chinese New Year is fast approaching in a few days time, so decided to bake some pineapple tarts instead of buying them from the supermarkets. Home baked is still the best.

Since today is Valentine's Day, I used a heart shape cookie cutter to shape some pineapple tarts. Happy Valentine's Day.

Guess I am getting on in age, could not bake as much as I wish, waiting for the pineapple tarts to cool down, before transferring them to containers.

Lunch at Chui Huay Lim Teochew Cuisine in Chui Huay Lim Club

Established since 1845, Chui Huay Lim Club has a rich history of 167 years. It was originally setup for Teochew businessmen to engage in business networking. You can read more about the rich history from its official website..

Earlier this month, we went there for lunch, the lunch was really good. As we were teochew, the food really click well with us siblings, and the food is really very good and tasty.

We were first served some thick tea before lunch.

Teochew Cold Crab

Ter ker Tan (Pig's trotters jelly)

Braised Goose Meat

Teochew Braised Duck (The duck was so tender and moist - really very good)

Prawns with salted egg

Stir fry spinach

Claypot tofu

Braised fish maw with mushroom, etc

Teochew Steamed promfret

Ee Fu Noodles

Soup with mushroom

Lastly, the must order dessert for teochew cuisine is the orh nee or yam paste with gingko nuts

The bill came to over $570+ for a table of 10, we ordered quite a lot of good and tasty food. Will come again. :)

Lunch at Tak Po Dim Sum Resaurant Chinatown Singapore

Before shopping for our Chinese New Year Stuff, we had lunch at Tak Po Dim Sum Restaurant in Chinatown.

Worth dining here, the price is very reasonable.

Minced pork with salted fish

Fish slices cognee

Chee Cheong Fun with shrimp (rice noodle roll)

Char Siew Bun (we did not want to order one plate that consist of three pieces, we just ordered one piece)

Wu Kok (Yam cake), nice of the restaurant staff to cut the item into two part so that sis and me can share, without us asking them to do so

Fried Carrot Cake (nicely cut up into two parts for us to share)
