This is Changi Village Food Centre (at the far end of Singapore), very famous for its food. One such popular stall is the nasi lemak (coconut rice), you need to queue to purchase the food and they sold out very fast.
There are so many food stalls in this centre and if you cant make up your mind which stall provides the best food, just see the queues....lol
We decided to eat the noodle at this stall and looking at the queue, you can tell it is good. This stall is recommend by Makansutra.

Different ways of making agar agar
I just made some agar agar for tomorrow christmas party at my brother's house.
Bought this box of chendol strips from the supermarket.
This is how the chendol strips looked like. I blanched them in hot water and set aside. Boil 12 gm agar agar powder, 850ml of water, 200 gm caster sugar, 200 ml coconut cream, pinch of salt, 3 pandan leaves tied into a knot, 1 box of green chendol strips.
When boiled pour into moulds and add some chendol strips. Let it set and refrigerate.
This heart shaped mould is lovely, I must remember to do a valentine dessert...lol
This is a peach agar agar. Just boiled some agar agar powder, water, sugar and when boiled, pour into mould and add peaches. Let it set and refrigerate.
I am ready for tomorrow part. :)

Oven Baked Chicken Wings
Just add some minced garlic, pinch of salt, 4 or 5 tablespoons of ketchup, 1 tbsp of honey (more if you like sweet) and marinated them with chicken wings for at least for more 30 minutes.
Bake in hour for 1 hour or 1 1/4 hours and keep turning the chicken wings every 20 minutes for even baking. My family loved it.

DIY BBQ Pork
Ooooo, I found this recipe and make my first Bak Kwa. It tasted as good as those sold outside. But I wondered if it is cheaper to buy than to DIY....lol
After mixing the minced pork with the ingredients, roll it over with a plastic sheet on top so that the pork would not stick to the rolling pin.
Hurray, my Bak Kwa is all ready....hahaha....yummy. Do cut out the black burn ends as they are not healthy.
I need to bake a few times cause my portable oven is too small.
Lastly the worst problem was that my youngest son gobble all the bak kwa before I can finish the 3rd tray. So I had to lock my kitchen door to prevent him from attacking the final tray (lol). But he is smart to climb through the bar counter beside the kitchen door by opening the window above the counter....Help!!!!
Note: Bakkwa, or rougan is a Chinese salty-sweet dried meat product similar to jerky, made in the form of flat thin sheets. It is normally made from pork.
