Lunch at Imperial Treasure Marina Bay Sands

Had lunch with my three sisters at Imperial Treasure Restaurant at Marina Bay Sands. Was first visit for me to the restaurant, ambience was great.

The side dish of walnut was tasty, expected it to be very hard but was easy to bite and chew.

Carrot cake with XO sauce

Assorted dim sum

Century egg porridge $10 per bowl

We could view the casino on Level 2 on our way to the restaurant and no we did not gamble. For locals and Permanent Residents of Singapore, we need to pay entry levy fee of $100 per day or $2000 annual levy. Free entry for foreigners. I dont like to gamble, even when I was in Macau, I spend more time sightseeing. Dont like to play the one arm bandit slot machine anymore, prefer the old machine where we could pull the handle, and listen to the falling of coins in the winning slot but nowadays they used card with credits and pressing the buttons to play.

Dim Sum at Tim Ho Wan Bedok Mall Branch

At last I managed to try the dim sum at Tim Ho Wan (the Michelin star awarded Hong Kong restaurant), the first branch in Singapore was at Plaza Singapura and the queue can be crazy, one need to queue for more than 2 hours to try the dim sum but since then they have few more branches around Singapore. That day, we dont even have to queue at the Bedok Mall Branch Restaurant but was indeed full house at the restaurant during lunch time.

Of course, we need to order the big four heavenly king dim sum from Tim Ho Wan.

The first was the famous Baked Bun with BBQ pork, was indeed really good, the skin was very soft, I even ordered two boxes of it to take away.

The second one was the vermicelli roll stuffed with pig's liver, surprised the liver was soft and not tough as I expected it to be, very easy to chew on - very good.

Third must be the pan fried turnip cake

The fourth is the steamed egg cake or known as "ma lai go" in cantonese.

Really need to try all the four signature dishes of the restaurant.

As usual the siew mai and har gow is a must order when eating dim sum.

Lastly the century egg porridge

If ever I visit Hong Kong again, I will try to dine at the Tim Ho Wan Restaurant.

Dim Sum at Spring Court Restaurant Chinatown Singapore

Hubby and me had one of our lunch date at Spring Court Restaurant Chinatown. The restaurant was one of the oldest chinese restaurant around since 1929, it used to be known as Wing Choon Yuen.

Had their famous huge popiah, the fillings were huge and tasty - highly recommended to try.

Yangzhou fried rice (my photo did not do a good service to the fragrant rice hahaha, wrong angle in taking photo of the plate resulting the plate looked so small, is actually a huge portion for two)

Prawn roll - love it but wish there's not so much seasame seeds

Siew Mai

Har Gow

BBQ pork bao(bun)

Century egg porridge

Next time would try the ala carte dishes

Been to this restaurant several times in the past few years but did not take any photos cause was not blogging at that time.

Canton Paradise - Dim Sum

Yesterday, hubby and me had lunch at Canton Paradise at JCube Jurong East.

Their menu consists of dim sum and other ala carte dishes.

Decided to try these baked BBQ Pork with honey buns. They tasted so good, the pastry is thin and soft, I thought it would be hard as cookies but I was wrong.

The fillings are BBQ Pork with honey.

Had to try the huge wantan that comes with the wantan noodles soup. Was good.

Deep fried shrimp in bean curd skin.

Siew Mai

Chee Cheong fun (Rice Noodles)

My only wish was the dim sum would be steaming hot but it was just warm. I really like dim sum served steaming hot.

Red Star Restaurant Outram

Red Star Restaurant is one of the pioneer dim sum restaurant in Singapore. They still served the dim sum on trolley. What fond memories of my childhood when my parents used to bring the entire family out for dim sum almost every Sunday when dim sum started in Singapore in the 70s I think.

The restaurant is still as popular and we need to queue for tables but the queue is fast moving as the restaurant is quite big and has many tables.

The chee cheong fun is one of their signature dish and comes with black sauce. It was really good and best of all the food comes steaming hot. I likes dim sum served steaming hot.

Another favourite is the century egg porridge.

Steamed Glutinous Rice (only available on Sunday) and fried sotong (squid) balls.

Paper wrapped chicken wings (they would removed the papers for you for easy eating.)

Siew Mai and Har Gow

Deep fried spring rolls.

Char Siew Bao (BBQ Pork Bun)

The servers would push trolleys of dim sum around and all you have to do is gesture to them to come to your table.
